The wedding celebrations kicked off the night before with a rehearsal dinner at Robert, located inside the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City. It was the perfect opportunity for family and friends to gather, enjoy a beautiful evening together, and celebrate the couple before their big day.
With the excitement building for their summer wedding at Tappan Hill Mansion, the rehearsal dinner set the tone for a wonderful weekend of celebrations.
Getting Ready at Tappan Hill Mansion
The next day, Sydney and Matt began their wedding day getting ready separately, surrounded by their closest friends and family.
Sydney wore a stunning strapless wedding gown with delicate floral lace detailing and a long, flowing veil. Her colorful bouquet added a playful touch to her romantic bridal look.
Matt kept things classic in a black tuxedo and bow tie, with a bright orange boutonniere that tied into their vibrant wedding palette.
A Romantic First Look and Private Vows
Before the ceremony, Sydney and Matt shared a private first look and exchanged personal vows.
I love when couples set aside time for themselves before the festivities begin. Your wedding day moves quickly, and those quiet moments together can end up being some of the most meaningful.

I love seeing couples embrace color. You can absolutely have an elegant New York wedding without limiting yourself to an all white or neutral palette.

Sydney and Matt exchanged vows during a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Tappan Hill Mansion, surrounded by lush greenery and sweeping views of the Hudson Valley.
A large floral arch overflowing with pink, coral, orange, yellow, and ivory flowers framed the ceremony space. Colorful floral arrangements lined the aisle, while white ceremony chairs provided a clean, classic contrast.
And that view!
With the Hudson River in the background, the ceremony setting was beautiful from every angle.
Sydney walked down the aisle in her romantic lace gown and long veil before joining Matt beneath the floral arch. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they exchanged vows in a setting that felt romantic, personal, and full of life.
Cocktail Hour and Thoughtful Personal Details
After the ceremony, guests transitioned into cocktail hour while Sydney and Matt enjoyed the excitement of officially being married.
One of my favorite details was their creative seating display. Rather than using a traditional seating chart, they incorporated a beautiful white bookshelf decorated with colorful flowers, framed photographs, and books.
Individual escort cards hung on displays on either side, creating a personalized installation that was both functional and beautiful.
I always love when couples find ways to incorporate their personalities into the smaller details. It's those thoughtful touches that make a wedding feel uniquely theirs.
A Garden Inspired Tappan Hill Mansion Wedding Reception
The colorful floral design continued into Sydney and Matt's wedding reception, where guests were welcomed into an elegant space filled with beautiful details.
Reception tables featured white linens, soft sage green napkins, gold toned chairs, and an abundance of colorful flowers.
Tall floral centerpieces added height and dimension, while smaller arrangements and candlelight brought warmth to the tables. Overhead, soft white draping and delicate string lights created a romantic atmosphere.
Sydney and Matt also chose a classic three tier white wedding cake with delicate textured detailing and floral accents. Everything flowed beautifully from the outdoor ceremony into the reception, creating a celebration that felt sophisticated, inviting, and ready for a really good party.
A Fun Reception and One Very Memorable Outfit Change
Once the reception festivities began, Sydney and Matt were ready to celebrate with their family and friends. The celebration continued with delicious food, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of dancing.
They certainly knew how to have fun!
And of course, we can't forget Sydney's outfit change! She switched into a fun reception look that was perfect for dancing the night away. It was the perfect finishing touch to an unforgettable Tappan Hill Mansion wedding.
