Modern and Elegant Wedding at Tappan Hill Mansion

Lindsey and Joshua met at a vineyard while both were visiting Israel. Sparks flew, and they dated long-distance for years before both found jobs on the West coast. It wasn’t long before Josh proposed during a trip to a local vineyard! Soon after, they asked me to plan their wedding at Tappan Hill Mansion. I loved getting to know these two, and I’m so glad they invited me to be a part of their special day!

Jewish Wedding Ceremony at Tappan Hill Mansion

Throughout the day, Lindsey and Joshua honored their Jewish heritage. Their traditional ketubah signing ceremony took place with their officiant and families present. After an emotional first look, they signed their marriage vows as the witnesses looked on. There wasn’t a single dry eye in the room! Then, everyone headed outside for the couple’s wedding ceremony.

The team at Damselfly Designs adorned the terrace at Tappan Hill Mansion with a simple chuppah to frame the ceremony events. White drapery cascaded from every corner and exuded elegance. Meanwhile, classic white florals were the perfect finishing touch. With the Hudson River distantly visible in the background, the scene couldn’t have been lovelier!

Black Tie Reception in the Pavilion Room

From the beginning, Lindsey and Joshua envisioned a wedding day with a “sophisticated modern” feel. I had so much fun creating a design for their reception in the Pavilion Room that brought their vision to life! Creamy ivory florals from Damselfly Designs and lustrous linens from BBJ La Tavola adorned each table. In addition, our team sourced Jerusalem stone to symbolize the beginning of the couple’s relationship. It made a gorgeous addition to the escort card display!

The couple and their guests enjoyed a delicious meal from Above & Beyond and a live band courtesy of Hank Lane Productions. Then, Josh had a surprise for Lindsey! An avid musician and DJ, he began writing her a song while they were still dating. When the two finished toasting the room, he grabbed his guitar and played the completed melody for his new bride! It was such a special moment, and I’m so glad I could help him coordinate this wonderful surprise.
